Discover the small fascinating pieces of the world! Learn what equipment to use and when to use it so you can capture the best close-up photographs. The illustrated lecture will demonstrate the technical and creative aspects to successful close-ups. Equipment covered includes macro lenses, extension tubes, screw-on close-up lenses, teleconverters, focusing rails and tripods. We'll look at what they do and how to effectively use them. Find out how diffusers and reflectors can be used to control light. In addition, the class will spend time on choosing the best aperture, working with background elements, getting the most out of your depth of field and placing the focus right where you want it. You'll see many examples of how to capture realistic or abstract images. Whether you're new to macro photography or want to further improve your abilities, you'll benefit from this class. The skills you'll learn can be applied to any subject of macro photography, at home or in the field.

After a presentation we'll go outside to practice our marco techniques in the gardens.
